Would you like to save a small fortune buying books?

If you live outside the US, here is how you do it:

STEP 1 Order them from the US/UK (using this site, of course! )    BUT:

STEP 2 For shipping instructions select
US/UK sea mail  or  US/UK surface mail

Yes, the book(s) will take 6-8 weeks to arrive, but the freight cost is so low, you are paying basically only the A$ equivalent of the listed US$ price!

PLEDGE: If you can find anyone in Australia who can sell the same books at the equivalent A$ prices, please let us know and we will trade with them or refer customers to them.

Recommended Titles and Order Process

The Book Shop has been arranged in broad categories which consist of titles we recommend as being good value for money. With very few exceptions, we have read/use the books we are recommending. Where there is an exception to the rule, we will tell you why we are still recommending it.

If you want additional information about a book, please click on the picture of the book and it will take you to Amazon where you can read other people's reviews of the book, the price and what other books people usually bought in conjunction with this title. (Sometimes you will be taken to the Amazon UK store.) If you have any questions after that, please send e-mail to books@lasotell.com.au and we will do our best to answer them as soon as possible, but it is unlikely we can add more, unless it arises from our own experience of using the book.

Order status: Amazon's standard system is very good — you receive confirmation of the order, notification of shipping date when it is despatched and, if back-ordered, advice on the progress of the back order.

The order confirmation e-mail re-states your order and preferred shipping details. You can use that e-mail to follow-up any questions you have about the progress of the order.

After sales support: Amazon's after sales service is excellent. On one occasion we had a book delivered that was missing a whole section in the binding. We asked them to arrange for a photocopy of the section to be sent to us (because it was a special order and hard to find) but a new copy turned up by air mail within a matter of days.
