Lasotell Pty Ltd started in 1985 as one-half of a joint-venture for writing medical education software (see Computerwise, below). It has always been involved in technical writing and in more recent years has moved into documentation project management as well as technical writing services. One of our particular skills is managing preparation of large scale documentation projects. Lasotell's activities are described in detail in this web site .

The Managing Director of Lasotell is Robert Phillips. He is a Science (Physiology) graduate who has been in technical communication all his working life, which covers the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Computer industries. He has performed the full spectrum of technical writing activities, including managing large teams of writers supporting up to 40 authors and publishing the final deliverable documents under tight proposal response deadlines.

Computerwise is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lasotell Pty Ltd. It was established in 1985 to produce the Bodywise(SM) computer based training software which was Runner-Up in the 1986 Australian Software Solution of the Year awards. Computerwise has continued to maintain a strong training basis to all its activities, as can be seen in this web site . These days it also works closely with a number of other companies to provide a range of specialised training skills in the areas of computers, technical writing and in training programme specification and design.

Quiltwise is a division of Computerwise Pty Ltd. As Computerwise has diversified its interests into e-commerce with software, hardware and book sales, it was decided to branch into craft-based products on a mail-order basis. The initial phase of this activity is an e-gallery, The Quiltwise Gallery for individuals to display their quilts and a book shop featuring books with quilt based themes.

JAR Documentation and Training started in 1999 and is focused on documentation and training methodologies. Specification and design of training programmes for virtually any environment or subject are a particular forte. The Managing Director of JAR Documentation and Training is John Raper. John has been in education and teaching for all his working life. He is a qualified school teacher, a retired RAN (Reserves) qualified clearance diver and a RANTS qualified trainer.

Technical Horizons Pty Ltd was started in 1997 following a long period of contract technical writing. Technical Horizons' activities cover technical writing, Royal Australian Navy Training System (RANTS) training and computer hardware sales. We have considerable experience in preparing responses to Defence tenders.

The Managing Director of Technical Horizons is Cliff Hobson. Cliff is a retired RAN submariner and this is the source of his RANTS background. Cliff has been working almost exclusively in the Defence arena since leaving the Navy in 1988. His work includes MIL-SPEC software documentation from requirements specifications through Final Acceptance Testing Test Reports.
